Read our tips below for discovering and acquiring your ideal client.

WHO IS YOUR IDEAL CLIENT?

Let’s talk about your dream boats. Can you think of a client that was an absolute dream to work with?

And answer these questions about YOURSELF:

  • What industry inspires you?

  • What is your ideal working scenario?

  • What price points do you like to work within?

Reflect and ask these questions about THEM:

  • What made them so fun to work with?

  • What was their problem before they worked with you?

  • What was their dream scenario? AKA what were they looking to get out of working with you?

  • What’s their gender identity?

  • What age are they?

  • What’s their job/industry?

CONNECT WITH AN INTERVIEW!

Next, get to really know them - face to face!

Reach out to 5 - 10 clients you enjoyed working with and connect over Zoom. You’ll want to know everything about their personal style, lifestyle, work, hobbies, and concerns.

To do so, download our Ideal Client Interview Guide and ask them these questions…

  • What do you love about your style or closet?

  • What frustrates you about your style or closet?

  • What do you wish could be better?

  • What’s your style strong suit?

  • Where do you normally shop?

    • Department stores, boutiques?

    • Does someone do it for you?

    • Do you buy whatever is on the mannequin?

  • Have you worked with a stylist before?

    • If yes, what was your experience?

    • If no, why not?

  • Where do you spend your time where you’re not working?

    • Where do you connect with people online?

  • Are you part of organizations outside of work? (Socially or professionally)

  • If anything, what do you do for fitness?

  • What do you do for fun?

  • Do you travel? Where too?

  • Do you have a family/kids?

    • If so, what age range?

  • Give me one reason why you think this won’t work for you

  • Where are your holes?

CONGRATS, YOU FOUND YOUR NICHE!

By connecting with your clients, you’ve just figured out:

  • Who your ideal client is

  • What their style dilemma is

  • What their pleasure is

  • Where to start marketing

  • What captures their attention

  • The belief you can transfer so they know this process will work for them

…and most importantly, your own narrative! Creating your own narrative is a vital step in landing your ideal client. Once you discover, focus your strategy on them.
